I thought I would dedicate this month’s feature on a brand new event called Battlefields.
Described as a pluri disciplinary project Februarys party featured visual arts, performances and live music focusing on Bodies, Sexualities and Genders.
Held at the very spacious Flying Dutchman which houses a bar, dance and show areas with plenty of comfortable seating including a slightly more quiet private area.
Downstairs was dedicated to a gallery of related art. You know the kind of stuff granny has on her wall. There is also a rather plush, fully tiled bathroom / shower area.
The Flying Dutchman is a popular venue for events that, well have a little more kick than your average bar or club. This place has masses of character and can be privately hired.
Now my writer blue me out this night so if you fancy the position please contact me. Had she arrived she would have taken note of all the acts however foolishly because I was stunned by the amazing performances I didn’t manage to take down all the names of the acts so apologies for this.
First up was a rather pretty bird that instead of being plucked actually had feathers attached, aided by little bow peep.
Putting the pain that she must have felt aside and any question or wonder of WHY, the resulting human artwork was colorfully admiring.
Even after the needles were extracted the pattern of blood formed human art in the extreme.
